BODYpainted

The group exhibition brings together different but also related observations of human corporeality.

e.artis contemporary shows artistic positions that thematise the body in its nature and peculiarity. In the process, the body is thematised as a social construct and means of expression, as a means of sexuality and reproduction, in its self-perception and transience.

We live in a time in which the human body is the projection surface for self-optimisation and the reason for merciless self-hatred, in which a whole new shamefulness meets rigorous display, in which the delusion of youth and the reality of old age struggle with each other, in which people try to look natural with all kinds of aids. In the exhibition BODYpainted, the artists reflect on these contradictions...
