Marius Seidlitz

Marius Seidlitz was born in Erfurt in 1985. After studying fine arts at the Bauhaus University in Weimar and completing an award-winning apprenticeship in engraving and design, he consistently developed his artistic language beyond academic constraints. Since 2002, his works have been shown in national and international exhibitions, including in Great Britain, the Netherlands, Italy, China, and Korea. His works are held in numerous private collections. Marius Seidlitz lives and works in Chemnitz.

Painter Marius Seidlitz explores the psychological tension between surface and interiority in his work. His predominantly female figures appear detached, fragmented, at times wounded – as projections of mediated body images and personal vulnerability. Seidlitz works with oil, acrylic, and spray paint, combining classical painting techniques with a digitally influenced visual aesthetic. His compositions create a cool, precise space that makes emotional states visible without illustrating them. Painting thus becomes a site of quiet confrontation with questions of identity, perception, and self-protection.
