Features and Remarks
Found material, in this case glass, leftovers from an old glassworks in Berlin, becomes the carrier of form. What is actually interesting about this work develops in relation to it: the constantly changing shadow of the coloured glass, which Ilona Kálnoky gives (free) space and presence in an object box.
"I am interested in the transformation of our physical world. The character of materials and the possibilities of their development give us an awareness of the interspace we are living in. So are my sculptures nothing long living – everlasting, but they make visible the haptic, emotional, spatial, substantial, physical, transcend environment around us. The measurements of the used materials depend on their technical production of them or through a former cut."
